Palace went down without a fight to Stoke, losing 1-0. Another classically pathetic performance from a group of 11 who don't deserve the honour of playing in the glorious 'Red & Blue'.

That's six defeats in seven games now for Palace which surely puts the manager on very thin ice!. Palace just did not create enough chances and did not force the Stoke goalie into any serious saves. The first half was incredibly poor with Stoke's 38th minute goal the difference between the two sides. Selhurst Park was quiet from the off as Palace had done nothing to lift the mood. McAnuff came the closest to scoring for the Eagles when his shot was blocked on the line, but there was no creativity or guile shown by any of the Palace players. At least there was some fight in a 20 minute spell at the start of the second half but there was no late push for an equaliser. Stoke got the only goal in the first half, and then sat back and defended strongly for the remainder of the game to nick the points. All credit to them.

This result consolidates our position of 20th in the league, just 5 places above the bottom and 2 away from the relegation zone.
