Mountain Biking

I generally manage to go twice a week and sometimes manage three rides. On a Tuesday and Thursday I go with some friends up Sir Lowry's Pass, following the railway servitude road. The ride is great and there is a fantastic stretch of downhill on which we once clocked 75kph!

Mountain biking around here is a brilliant way to exercise as the scenery is superb and the routes available for riding are great.

Here are some of the views from the top:

A panoramic looking over False Bay towards the Cape Peninsula, in the distance on hte right is Table Mountain

The Helderberg from a different angle

This is looking up towards the top of the Hottentots Holland mountains, the house in the middle is a classic example of someone with more money than sense. The house is thatched and that brownish patch behind the house going up to the right is where a fire burnt last summer. If that happens again this year, this house will be destroyed
