Life & Death

As Dean was away all of last week I only had chance to pop in quickly to CNP on Friday (also my birthday!). I was so glad that I did as I got to see most of my cell group ladies and had good chats with them all. They had been really missing Dean, so it was great that I was able to go in.

I had a lovely birthday, despite Dean's absence. I had several cards, SMS's and phone calls from home. I went out to tea with some friends and then went out for a meal with 6 friends on Saturday night. This wonderful evening was made all the more special when I arrived home to find Dean hiding in a wardrobe(!) having flown home early to surprise me (that was achieved - I nearly had a heart attack!!).

Sadly, on Sunday we received the news that in a sense I had been waiting for. Lorraine died on Saturday evening. Wonderfully, she had been admitted to the Hospice on Thursday and so spent her last couple of days being cared for and respected in a way that just wasn't possible at home in CNP. We really give thanks to God for that and for her life. Please pray now for her family and for the funeral. The future for her little girl is very uncertain and we are praying for the right solution to be found.
