J is for Juggling

One of my favourite things!

Juggling is great because it's really easy to learn and looks very cool, especially once you learn a few simple tricks.

I love to juggle with fire because people are easily impressed by this and I also love the diablo as again the basics are very easy and even the simplest tricks can wow an audience.

I learnt to juggle in my late 20's and have never really stopped. I'm not a great juggler but discovered that I really enjoy teaching others to juggle so I've taken my juggling equipment with me to all kinds of different places. I've taught kids in Tanzania, Zimbabwe and South Africa to juggle and my fav' was teaching some of the street kids in Zim' to juggle. Hopefully those that returned to the streets might have found some new skills to entertain and earn a few dollars.

  1. Good for you...I bet you give more than just a 'Juggling' lesson to every kid with whom you share your special skill. Kids pick it up pretty fast, too. I taught myself to juggle as a PE teacher so I could show my students...so much fun! A great Letter J word and demo!

  2. Got to juggle in front of an audience today! Were out with the girls and there was a juggling, plate spinning, hat tossing workshop followed by show. The guy saw enough messing around before hand to invite me up onto the stage in the performance: did a little Mills Mess - at which point he thought that was quite enough and threw me off the stage :)

  3. Thanks for stopping by Sue, lovely to meet you, even if it is just in cyberspace.

Keith you've reminded me of one of my middle niece's 8th birthday party when she had a clown who could do all kinds of juggling tricks. Sadly for him she sat through his entire routine arms crossed, deeply unimpressed and responded dismissively to every trick by saying "My uncle Dean can do that!" By all accounts the clown left feeling somewhat dejected. Poor bloke!

  4. I've tried juggling enough times to know that I'm no good at it. Perhaps i just needed the right teacher.

  6. That's amazing that you can juggle fire. I wouldn't have the guts to try! And for some reason I can't seem to master the Diablo. It always seems so easy but I just can't do it!
