On This Day In History..

Actually, in this week in history... and what a historical week it is.

Firstly Rosa Parks died, if you don't know who she was, where have you been? Rosa historically refused to give up her seat on a bus in America, allegedly the conversation was as follows:
"Are you going to stand up?" the bus driver, James Blake, asked.
"No," she answered.
"Well, by God," the driver replied, "I'm going to have you arrested."
"You may do that," Mrs Parks responded.

The rest as you might say, is history!

Rosa Parks 04.02.12 - 25.10.05
The second major event was the announcement that the US death toll in Iraq has hit 2000. This happened with the death of Staff Sgt George T Alexander Jr, 34, who died in hospital in Texas from wounds he received when a bomb hit his vehicle in Samarra, Iraq on 17 October.

Whilst his death and the US death toll are tragic events, the Iraqi death toll seems to be immaterial, even though it stands at over 20,000!

As we pray about this situation, take a moment or two to reflect on the numbers of innocent Iraqi's who have died without knowing Jesus. This is a real tragedy!
