It was a truly blessed time ministering the word and the presence of God in such a beautiful place.
The work Heartlands do in providing temporary residential safe care to infants is amazing, they have 25 children at any one time, and their focus is to give each child a sense of belonging in family, and always with a view to repatriation to their birth family whenever possible. It was a joy to pray with some of the staff members, and to receive feedback from some about how 'spot on' the prayer had been was very encouraging.
Having said goodbye to baby Jack the day before, it was a little heartsore to be somewhere like Heartlands, but it was also a joy to be able to donate a pack of nappies and wet wipes along with the larger SAFReC donation.
It was also good to get together with some of the Western Cape SAFReC
Chaplains, and hopefully we'll start meeting up and being a blessing to
other services and ministries in the coming months.
