Y is for YouTube

Really, this should be W is for worship, but I only thought of that after the event, so here we are with Y for YouTube.

At The Gathering we're not blessed with any musicians that can lead us in our worship, so we use worship videos downloaded from YouTube, and then we sing along to them on Sundays and any other event where we would like a time of worship.

One of our favourite YouTube channels for worship videos has to be Music Meets Heaven, it's a fantastic resource and they do such a great job of putting lyrics to the songs with non-intrusive backgrounds that don't detract from the worship. If you've never been on their YouTube channel I highly recommend it.

One of the things that always leaves us breathless after church on a Sunday is reflecting on the songs we've used and how they flowed with the times of prayer, testimony and the word, Sundays truly are a huge blessing

Now before you go getting all militant about downloading and copyrights, we are not doing anything illegal as we pay for an annual CCLI (Christian Copyright Licensing, Inc) license that allows us to play worship videos at The Gathering, as long as we report what we played on their website. Also, we do not share or distribute the videos.

  1. Youtube is a useful cool place for information facts and fun. I've been using it for years to catch up on the news and other stuff

  2. YouTube is a site that I use more than most others. I haven't heard of worshippers using YouTube videos for their services, but I can see how that would work if you don't have the players in church.
